On 22–23 May 2026, the interdisciplinary conference was organised by Prof Martin Procházka and Dr Mirka Horová as part of the project CoRe. The conference took its main theme from Richard Seymour’s influential recent monograph Disaster Nationalism: The Downfall of Liberal Civilization (2024).

The event attracted delegates from several Czech universities and research institutions as well as international participants from Belgium, France, Georgia, Norway, Slovakia, and Ukraine. Keynote lectures were delivered by Luba Jurgenson (Université Paris-Sorbonne) and Murray Pittock (University of Glasgow).
Seven researchers involved in CoRe presented their papers:
- Noemi Bravená, “Moral Violence and Catastrophic Nationalism”
- Zdenko Širka, “Religious Nationalism in Serbia”
- Mirka Horová, “Swings and Roundabouts? The Rise of the Greens and Reform”
- Radvan Markus, “The Inclusive Aspect of the Irish Language”
- Petra Johana Poncarová, “Resistance Potential of Creative Language Activism: A Case Study in Scottish Gaelic and Esperanto”
- Martin Procházka, “Demise of Liberal Democracy? Avoiding the Disaster of the Society of Control”
- Kamila Veverková, “The National Question of SubCarpathian Rus: Historical Narratives in Contemporary Hungarian Discourse”
Selected contributions from the conference will be published in a special issue of the academic journal Litteraria Pragensia in December 2026, co-edited by Martin Procházka and Mirka Horová.
