Medieval Magic Tricks

The Institute of Greek and Latin Studies at CU FA invites you to two lectures on 6 November 2024 from 3:00–5:00 pm at the Centre for Medieval Studies at CU FA (Jilská 6, Prague 1). The lectures will be given by Vanessa Da Silva Baptista (London Global University) on “Crafting Illusions: Magic Tricks and the Art of Deception in Late Medieval Europe” and Jan Odstrčilík (Austrian Academy of Sciences, Vienna) on “Automatic Transcription of Medieval Manuscripts: Technologies, Possibilities and Methodological Challenges”.
