The workshop offers an in-depth analysis of:

  • Call for Applications
  • Project Template structure (sections B1 and B2)
  • Early Achievements Track Record structure
  • Principal Investigator’s CV preparation
  • Strategies for choosing effective project titles and acronyms

Participants will engage in practical exercises and review examples of successful project proposals to identify ways to enhance originality and creativity in scientific proposal writing.

Schedule & Participation Format

10:00 am – 12:30 pm: Workshop Session (Hybrid Format)

  • Available both in-person and online
  • While online participation is possible, we strongly recommend attending in person due to the interactive nature of the workshop

12:30–1:30 pm: Lunch Break

1:30–3:00 pm: Dedicated Q&A Session

  • In-person attendance required (no streaming available)
  • This session will be dedicated to personalized support and addressing specific questions related to participants’ individual project proposals

3:20–5:00 pm: Individual Project Mentoring

  • One-to-one sessions (time slots of 20min): Participants will receive targeted feedback and guidance on their ERC grant applications.

Workshop Leader

Dr. Monica Brinzei

Monica Brinzei is a Senior Research Fellow (Directeur de Recherche) and Vice-Director at the Institut de Recherche et d’Histoire des Textes (CNRS) in Paris. She is a two-time recipient of an ERC grant.

Her scholarly interests encompass medieval philosophy, the history of medieval universities, philology, paleography, and codicology. Her research is particularly focused on the tradition of commentaries on the Sentences in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries, with a specific emphasis on how this intellectual practice was embraced by emerging universities in Europe, including those in Vienna, Prague, and Cracow. Brinzei has led significant research projects funded by the European Research Council (ERC), including the THESIS project (2012–2018) and the DEBATE project (2018–2024), both of which examine the role of medieval universities in the dissemination of scientific thought across Europe. She is currently the CNRS PI of the Horizon 2020 RESTORY project (2024-2026). Her scholarly output includes articles published in leading journals such as Vivarium, Traditio, and Archives d’Histoire Doctrinale et Littéraire du Moyen Âge, Fragmentology. Since 2015, she has also served as a founding co-editor of the Studia Sententiarum series, published by Brepols.
